The toys of summer

After a six-year lapse, the Chicago Toy Show, which presented a summer event for 32 years, is back.

The Chicago Toy Show Summer A-Fair is set for 2 to 9 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the Trade Building at the Kane County Fairgrounds, 525 S. Randall Road, St. Charles. It will take place alongside the fair, and the $8 fair admission includes the toy show.

Toys and dolls exhibited will run the gamut from playthings of the early 1900s to toys of the 1990s. Visitors can see robots, toy soldiers, GI Joes, action figures, Barbie and American Girl dolls, Disney collectibles, Tootsie Toys, farm toys and more.
