Expo to offer tips to homeowners

A group of local business owners are holding a Home Expo from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 10 in downtown Geneva. The free event will provide information on topics of interest to homeowners, including all types of home improvement and maintenance, safety tips, ways to increase the comfort and beauty of your home, how to maintain your home's value and making wise investments that will save money on energy bills.

The event will focus on the needs of today's homeowners and prospective homebuyers. The team of professionals will be on hand to address basement finishing, kitchen and bath remodeling; how can window treatments lower your energy bills; does your present home fit your family's needs; understanding home financing options; preventing the 10 most common home defects; color selection to maximize your home's potential; electrical upgrades to prevent overloaded circuits and safety hazards and are tankless water heaters a good investment.

Drawings will be held throughout the day and participants have a chance to win gifts, discounts on home improvement services and a grand prize of a flat-screen television.
