Calling all Kane County residents for town hall meeting

Kane County residents are invited to a town hall meeting intended to raise awareness and support for the passage of Right to Carry legislation in Illinois. It will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 8, in the New Orleans Ballroom at the Pheasant Run Resort, 4051 E. Main St., St. Charles.

The event is being sponsored by IllinoisCarry.com. IllinoisCarry is an online action and discussion forum dedicated to help pass legislation and put Illinois citizens on an equal footing with residents in 49 other states. It will feature speakers with a wide experience level and interest in the area of Right to Carry in Illinois.

"It has been widely recognized that the desire for passage of a Right to Carry law enjoys broad support across most of Illinois, but in the counties surrounding Chicago the issue is not as well understood," said Valinda Rowe, a spokeswoman for IllinoisCarry. "The objective of the meeting is to build both understanding and support in the collar counties for Right to Carry legislation this year."
