Find out how to be a better parent in today's world

If you are interested in learning more about raising children, recognizing the signs and symptoms of an unhealthy child, battling teen drinking and drug use, or the dangers of the Internet, you are invited to sign up for Parent to Parent 2000/Lessons Learned. This is the popular series of workshops created by Bill Oliver which is continually updated to address current parenting issues and provide techniques for interacting with your children.

Space is still available for the last class to be offered this spring. The class will provide parents with advice and guidance in their battle against the "Toxic Culture" in which they are forced to raise their children. Each of the four sessions focuses on different "Lessons Learned," and more than half of each session is dedicated to discussing topics introduced by the Parent to Parent videos/DVDs and sharing collective experiences. The program is valuable for parents of children of any age.

Parents who have attended this class have said things like, "I found out I'm not alone"; "Others have the same concerns that I do"; "I wish all parents would take this class so we would have a common language and could network more effectively;" and "The class gave me a different and healthier perspective on how to interact with my kids."

The final class will be from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursdays April 8, 15, 22 and 29. All sessions will be held in the third floor conference room at the Geneva 304 District Administrative Offices, 227 N. Fourth St. All sessions are free.
