Yard waste collection resumes March 29, sticker rate increases

Yard waste collection resumes Monday, March 29, for Arlington Heights residents living north of Oakton and on Tuesday, March 30, for those living south of Oakton.

As of April 1, per the village's refuse collection agreement with Groot Recycling and Waste Services, the cost of yard waste stickers will increase to $1.95 each. The Unlimited Yard waste Collection program is a one-time cost of $115 for collection of all yard waste for the season. For residents north of Oakton Street, yard waste collection is held on Mondays from March 29 through Nov. 29. For residents south of Oakton, yard waste collection is held on Tuesdays from March 30 through Nov. 30, 2010.

The village is currently working toward a solid waste collection contract to begin in 2011.
