Cougars fall to Chiefs
PEORIA — The Kane County Cougars notched a first-inning run on Saturday night but never scored again and lost 6-1 to the Peoria Chiefs at O’Brien Field in the opener of a three-game series. The loss was the Cougars’ 12th in 14 games, and they have scored 1 run in each of their last 4 defeats. Alex Llanos led off the game with a double, Gerard Hall bunted Llanos to third and Brian Fletcher delivered a two-out, RBI single. Starter Robert Penny (0-2) took the loss.
