Members get to know each other at Kiwanis @ Nite

Submitted by St. Charles Noon Kiwanis Club

A recent “Kiwanis @ Nite” drew a crowd for the St. Charles Noon Kiwanis Club. Past president Joe Boyd, a 2011 Hixon Award winner, brought forth the idea of “Kiwanis @ Nite” two years ago, to give the members a chance to get to know each other in a more casual way. Each moment of the regular club meetings is packed full of all the Kiwanis business — not necessarily allowing the members to really know the people with whom they work side by side.

This program has proved to be a success, fostering friendships and networking that bond the group together. Once a month, “Kiwanis @ Nite” is held at different restaurant locations throughout town.

The co-chairs of this program are Laurie Milbourn and David Stachowiak. Thanks to Joe Boyd’s creativity, this club enjoys this social format, ultimately strengthening the club.

The St. Charles Noon Kiwanis Club meets at noon Tuesdays at PNC Bank, 2600 E. Main St. in St. Charles. For membership information, call Lori Linkimer at (630) 377-9200.
