Spaghetti benefit to help man on road to recovery
A spaghetti dinner fundraiser for Batavia resident Mike Tecza will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 20, at the Moose Family Center, 2250 W. Route 38, just west of Randall Road, St. Charles.
The donation at the door is $7 per person and there will be a cash bar. Kids age 5 and younger get in free. Admission for kids ages 6 to 12 is $3. There will be 50/50 raffles and prize raffles.
Tecza suffered a severe brainstem stroke on Nov. 13, 2009 at the age of 49. As a result of the stroke, he was almost completely paralyzed. The doctors were uncertain of his prognosis. They said he may never work again. But Tecza is determined to fight his way back.
Unfortunately, he had no medical insurance at the time of his stroke and public aid is pending.
Any and all contributions and support is graciously accepted and appreciated. If you are unable to attend the fundraiser, but want to contribute, a check should be made payable to Seeds of Strength, c/o Union Savings Bank, 1320 N. State St., Belvidere, IL 61008. Or donate at giveforward.org/seedsofstrength/.
