Series shows bias against teachers

I don't know where to begin when it comes to addressing your biased reporting of the teacher pension system. Could it be the grandiose front page displays that make it look like all teachers/administrators are the fault behind the crisis we face? Could it be the Herald's inability to compare "apples to apples' when putting those with advanced education degrees and their salary alongside someone in a clerical position? Could it be the illusion that teachers get heath care after retirement? I could go on.

Teachers have dutifully paid their 10 percent pension requirements paycheck after paycheck, year after year. But the state of Illinois has underfunded the system for over 50 years. That's where the fault lies!

Go after your elected officials to cut some of their enormous fat to balance the budget and fulfill pension obligations under the constitution of our state.

Take a look at the your elected officials and the sweetheart deals they have in regards to pensions/health care. They're the ones that have caused this mess for their lack of responsibility for decades and yet they go unscathed in this mess. Before the state raises our taxes and/or steals more from our pension funds let's get our elected officials to act fiscally responsible and find a solution that does not punish the hard working educators in our state.
