The stimulus package didn't work out so well because the money went to the wrong level of the economy. Giving money to large business and other governmental units like states, counties, cities and towns just delays and waste our collective assets.

Put money or tax credits where it will move fast to drive jobs. Put $500 billion in a 50/50 fund that will allow it to go to employees hired by big (not huge) and small business (up to 250 full-time American citizens or aliens with proper work permits) who earn $30,000 to $50,000. Or give the small employer a tax credit for the money they put into new jobs. Put a limit on the hires to 25 percent of the current work force and require all new hires to be in addition to the current work force.

In other words, subsidize their employment by allowing the employers to pay 50 percent and the fund to pay 50 percent for 12 or 18 months. Tax as normal.

Require the employer to provide health care and share the cost with the employee at 50 percent of the employee premium.

This allows business to grow. Put people to work so people can pay bills and buy what they need. That stimulates the rest of the economy from the bottom up.

Stop dumping money into the hands of the big banks, manufacturers and others who do what drives the most profit for them. Give the smaller business a chance to reduce their cost of hiring and increase their productivity.

If this makes sense to you clip this out and send it to a politician in Washington. Any politician that you think can think who may have an interest in getting the fellow citizens a job.
