Chicago Red Stars partner with local hospital
Chicago's professional women's soccer team has partnered with orthopedic and sports medicine experts from the city's Weiss Memorial Hospital.
The Chicago Red Stars and the team announced the partnership on Monday. According to a news release, orthopedic surgeons and sports medicine physicians from the hospital will provide medical care to players.
The hospital and team have a three-year partnership that starts in the 2010 season.
Dr. Preston Wolin is director of sports medicine at Weiss and the Red Stars' team physician. Wolin says the partnership will help the hospital "reach out to the community more to promote injury prevention, which is an important component to our care."
