2 Medford men die in rollover crash in northern Wisconsin

BERN, Wis. — Two Medford men have died in a single-vehicle rollover in the town of Bern in Marathon County of north-central Wisconsin.

Lt. Dale Wisnewski of the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department tells the Wausau Daily Herald that speed and alcohol were a factor in the crash Saturday night.

Wisnewski says the men were traveling on Highway C when the driver lost control of the vehicle and hit a sign. He says the driver and a passenger were thrown from the vehicle.

WSAW-TV reports (http://bit.ly/w0Heof) that 24-year-old Abraham Gilles and 21-year-old Mathew Olson, both of Medford, died at the scene.

A third man walked away from the scene.

Wisnewski says no one was wearing seatbelts.
