'No Parking' restrictions at Taste of Lombard
LOMBARD, Illinois— The Village of Lombard Public Works Department will post “No Parking” signs during the Taste of Lombard 2010. These signs will be posted prior to noon on June 30. Tickets will be issued to violators after that time.
These temporary residential street restrictions are necessary to ensure that spectators will be able to enter and leave the Madison Meadow Park area with a minimum of delay and hazard. This July 4 marks the 37th time the fireworks display has been held in Madison Meadow Park.
“We hope that this parking system will enable clearing of both vehicular and pedestrian congestion within a short time after the display ends,” according to Lombard Police Chief Raymond Byrne. Violators will be towed at their expense.
The following streets will be posted with parking restrictions during the Taste of Lombard:
1. Grace - West side from Wilson to Madison
2. LaLonde - West side from Wilson to Washington
3. Fairfield – East side from Central to S. Broadway
4. Fairfield & Madison (No parking within 25 feet of intersection on East and West side of Fairfield at corner of Madison)
5. Edgewood - West side from Madison to S. Broadway
6. Lewis - East side from Madison to S. Broadway
7. Lodge - West side from Madison to S. Broadway
8. Chase - East side from Madison to S. Broadway
9. Highland - West side from Madison to S. Broadway
10. Ahrens - East side from Madison to Division
11. School - West side from Madison to S. Broadway
12. School - West side from Lombard Circle to Ahrens
13. Ahrens - West side from Lombard Circle to Madison
14. Lombard Circle - East side
15. Chase - West side from Lilac Way to Bradley Lane

Members of the Lombard Police Department will maintain crowd control within Madison Meadow Park. They will be stationed at strategic intersections to assist in traffic and crowd control both before and after the display. The Lombard Fire Department will post a rescue ambulance and one of its fire trucks inside the park to handle injuries or fire situations.
“The Lombard Police Department will vigorously enforce all state and Village
laws and, in particular, the use of firecrackers and drinking in the park,” Byrne stated.
The parking restrictions will be in effect for the entire Taste of Lombard festival starting at 5 p.m., June 30 and ending at 11 p.m., July 4. Chief Byrne urges all residents to be cautious of the dangers of fireworks and to be concerned for the safety of all. He also advises the residents to comply with the parking restrictions.
