Arlington Park hosts 19th annual Chicagoland Family Pet Expo

More than 300 exhibitors will be at Arlington Park racecourse this weekend for the 19th annual Chicagoland Family Pet Expo featuring entertainment, hands-on attractions and the latest in pet products and services.

The event runs from 1 to 9 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $10 for adults, and $5 for children between 3 and 12 years old, except Friday night when admission is buy one, get one free.

Among the expo’s highlights are the Rock-N-Roll K-9s Performance Team, a group of highly trained dogs whose show includes relay races, high jumps, tricks and choreographed obedience routines. The team will perform three times Friday and Sunday, and four times Saturday.

Visitors also can also check out a pair of new show highlights: the Amazing Acro-Cats and the Ultimate Exotic Animal Encounter.

The Acro-Cats will ride skateboards, roll barrels, ring bells, jump through hoops, climb ropes and much more during their three performances each day.

The Ultimate Exotic Animal Encounter will give attendees a chance to get up close and hands-on with snakes, alligators, lizards and other exotic creatures.
