Walsh right to fight reckless spending

Peggy Simonsen’s letter on Feb. 13 criticized new U.S. Rep. Joe Walsh for supposedly not recognizing “It’s the economy, stupid!” I don’t recall any such question from Peggy to the previous representative in the last two years while the economy tanked. That is the whole point!

Walsh ran on the issue of recognizing that it was the economy and that government spending programs were out of control. The government has no business giving taxpayer money to groups like Planned Parenthood. If Peggy Simonsen wants to give her own money for birth control pills and Planned Parenthood for her friends, she is free to do so. Why are not people who want these services/items paying for it with their own money? As a taxpayer, I resent paying for someone else’s abortion or pills. The government has no right to take taxpayers money to fund such personal desires.

Good for Joe Walsh in opposing such concepts. It is Peggy Simonsen who is out of touch with this district, which does not want to see its taxes skyrocket as it will in Obamacare. Obamacare has more than 18 new tax hikes that will cost over $500 billion between 2010 and 2019, as reported by Investor’s Business Daily. Walsh is right to oppose it.
