LaMarca, Paszkiewicz, Spieker for Pingree Grove village board

Daily Herald Editorial Board

Four solid candidates are running for three open seats on the Pingree Grove village board.

Our endorsements go to Ray LaMarca, chairman of the Cambridge Lakes Volunteer Finance Committee; business owner Brian Paszkiewicz; and Robert Spieker, a member of the Pingree Grove Planning and Zoning Commission.

All three would focus on expanding the village’s tax base, and we especially like LaMarca’s objective of striving to bring different neighborhoods of the community together.

We also like the fourth candidate, Bernard Thomas, who has governmental experience in other communities and would broaden the geographic representation in Pingree Grove.

We hope Thomas, or whoever finishes last in the trustee race, receives the appointment to a fourth seat that will open after the election when Greg Marston vacates his trustee post to become village president, and urge Marston to submit that appointment.
