Video leads bomb squad to Huntley
The Kane County bomb squad confiscated materials used to create explosives at a 14-year-old Huntley boy’s home Thursday afternoon after he posted videos of himself making fireworks on the Internet, authorities said.
Huntley police along with the bomb squad arrived at a home in the Georgian Place subdivision about 1 p.m. Thursday and found substances and materials that are used for creating dangerous explosive devices, according to police.
The teen was posting videos of himself creating explosives similar to M-80s and other dangerous fireworks, according to police.
Police said there is no immediate danger to the community, and that all the materials were confiscated from the home on the 10700 block of Golden Gate Drive.
No charges had been filed as of Thursday afternoon.
