Gurnee woman sentenced to probation

A Gurnee woman who was once accused of attacking a police officer with a sex toy has been sentenced to 30 months of probation after pleading guilty to three other crimes. Carolee Bildsten, 57, must successfully complete alcohol treatment in order to comply with the terms of her plea agreement.

Lake County Assistant State’s Attorney Scott Turk said Bildsten pleaded guilty to felony driving under the influence of alcohol and a misdemeanor charge of driving on a revoked license stemming from an arrest Sept. 15 in Gurnee.

She also pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of theft for walking out of a Gurnee restaurant without paying her bill on Nov. 9, Turk said.

Bildsten was originally charged with trying to strike a police officer who was investigating the theft case, but Turk said that charge was dropped in exchange for the guilty pleas to the other charges. Turk said the pleas were entered March 14 during a hearing before Associate Judge Brian Hughes.
