Montgomery man unfit for trial in arson murders
YORKVILLE — A Kendall County Court has found a 23-year-old man unfit to stand trial for the June 2009 arson murders of his brother and cousin.
Psychiatrists for both the defense testified Thursday that Theddias LeSure of Montgomery cannot aid in his own defense at this time and is therefore not fit to stand trial.
LeSure is charged with 28 counts of murder, attempted murder and aggravated arson. Prosecutors say he poured gasoline on his 32-year-old cousin, Maurice Vaughn, while Vaughn was asleep, and then set him on fire. They say the resulting blaze gutted the family home and caused the smoke inhalation death of LeSure's 26-year-old brother, Matthew.
