State legislative candidates forum Sept. 23 in Arlington Heights

Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Arlington Heights will host a forum for state legislature candidates on Sunday, Sept. 23, featuring hopefuls in three election contests.

Candidates invited to the event a 27th Senate District Republican incumbent Sen. Tom Rooney and Democrat Ann Gillespie; 53rd House District, Republican Eddie Corrigan and Democrat Mark Walker; and 54th House District, Republican incumbent Rep. Tom Morrison and Democrat Maggie Trevor.

Viatorian priest the Rev. Corey Brost will moderate the nonpartisan event, scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m., with special attention given to topics such as human services, the environment and poverty, according to organizers.

Attendees are invited to meet the candidates afterward for conversation over coffee. The church is located at 1234 N. Arlington Heights Road.
