Food Bank fundraiser features former Bears

Northern Illinois Food Bank and several former Chicago Bears are kicking off Super Bowl weekend with a Super Saturday Night Party fundraiser.

Guests will have the opportunity to have their photo taken with the Vince Lombardi trophy awarded to the ’85 Bears after their win in Super Bowl XX.

The event is scheduled from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, at Midlane Golf Resort, 4555 W. Yorkhouse Road, Wadsworth.

The former Chicago Bears players who are scheduled to appear are Brian Baschnagel, Kevin Butler, Glen Kozlowski, Jim Morrissey and Keith Van Horne.

“We have a great group of guys coming together to help a great cause,” Kozlowski said in a food bank news release. “After playing for the Bears, we’ve made our homes here so it’s important to give back to our community.”

The Super Saturday Night Party is a family-friendly event featuring a full buffet, live entertainment with the Big Bear Band, Q&A with the 1985 Super Bowl players, raffles, a silent auction, bean bag toss and a putting contest with the Bears players.

Tickets are $85 for adults and $19.85 for kids 16 and younger.
