Builder to market in growing Indiana community

D.R. Horton, Inc. will build single-family homes at Stonegate Commons, a neighborhood in Winfield in northwest Indiana. The homes at Stonegate Commons will mark the national builder’s first venture into that state.

Winfield, Ind., near Crown Point, was established in 1993 and is the fastest growing town in northwest Indiana. The community combines a small-town character with easy access to Chicago within an hour’s drive. Winfield and Stonegate Commons are convenient to I-65, I-80-94 and I-394, and the community is served by the Crown Point schools.

“Indiana has several advantages that are prompting homebuyers to consider a move over the border into a region that is considered part of the Chicagoland metro area,” said Chris Naatz, vice president of sales for D.R. Horton, Inc., America’s Builder. “Indiana offers a positive economic climate, low property taxes, affordable prices and easy access to jobs, family and friends in the Chicago area. In addition, buyers can now purchase a D.R. Horton home and enjoy the security of working with a powerful national builder who offers quality design and construction plus responsive customer service.

“Preview sales information is now available at NeuFairfield, our community in Joliet, where buyers can view three of the designs that are available at Stonegate Commons,” Naatz said.

A ranch plan and four two-story home designs in the popular Horizon Series will be offered at Stonegate Commons. The homes range from about 1,805 to 3,018 square feet with two bedrooms and a den in the ranch plan and three to five bedrooms in the two-story homes. The homes include two to 2½ baths, two-car attached garages, partial basements or optional full basements and large fully sodded homesites with landscape packages. Base prices range from $197,990 to $219,990.

The Sunrise ranch, priced from $197,990, is ideal for those who enjoy one-level living. A foyer opens to a spacious living room and dining room that may have an optional volume ceiling and three-sided fireplace. The kitchen and breakfast nook are to one side of the living area and the master suite is on the other. The kitchen is partially open to the living area, and includes a serving peninsula and a pantry. A large laundry room/family foyer is adjacent to the kitchen and accesses the garage.

The master suite is spacious and may be further enhanced with a volume ceiling. Double walk-in closets and a large master bath complete the area. Optional features in an available deluxe bath are a separate shower and soaking tub, double-bowl vanity and window over the tub. A second bedroom and den are located at the front of the home and are served by a hall bath.

The two-story Vista has about 2,799 square feet of living space, priced from $212,990. Offering the popular advantage of both first- and second-floor family rooms, the Vista includes four bedrooms, 2 ½ baths, and two-car attached garage. The family-oriented floor plan features a living/dining great room area with space for dining and conversation, and the central staircase is a convenience for busy families. The informal living area includes a large kitchen with pantry and available island opening to a breakfast nook with sliding glass doors or available box bay window. The family room may have an optional fireplace. On the other side of the kitchen, a secluded den, powder room, and large storage closet are clustered in an area that opens to the garage.

The second floor features a laundry room in addition to the bedrooms and family room. The master bedroom boasts two walk-in closets, an extra-large master bath, and may have an optional volume ceiling and available deluxe bath with soaking tub and separate shower. Three other bedrooms are served by a large hall bath, and buyers may opt for a fifth bedroom instead of the upstairs family room.
