Buffalo Grove native found safe

A Buffalo Grove native who was feared missing in Seattle has been found safe and sound, his mother said Friday night.

Sean McInerney, a 25-year-old Stevenson High School graduate who later moved with his family to Boca Raton, Fla., had been looking for work in Seattle as a certified public accountant. But his parents hadn't heard from him since the first week in February. They said they became worried when his wallet was found, and two men were spotted on videotape trying to use his debit card at a Seattle bank.

His parents Lori and Chris McInerney have been in Seattle all week looking for their son. On Friday, his mother said they finally received a call from their son after he heard about their search.

“He's standing here right now,” Lori McInerney said in a phone interview from Seattle. “He didn't even know we were in Seattle looking for him. He's overwhelmed. He's in shock.”

Her son's belongings had been stolen from a Seattle library, she said, and he had been staying at hostels and shelters to try to save money.
