Hearing set on $233M hospital project in Huntley

A public hearing on a proposed hospital project in Huntley is planned for Wednesday.

Centegra Health System wants to build a 128-bed acute care hospital on the east side of Haligus Road, between Algonquin Road and Reed Road in Huntley.

The cost of the project is estimated at $233 million.

The Illinois Department of Public Health hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Huntley Municipal Complex in the Village Board Meeting Room.

Mercy Alliance Inc. has a competing hospital project planned for Crystal Lake. A hearing on that project is set for March 18 in Crystal Lake.

The Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board plans to consider both projects at a meeting May 10.
