Hanover Park gets $150,000 police station grant
Hanover Park has been awarded a $150,000 grant from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity to assist in the construction of its new police station, expected to open in early 2012.
Village officials said the grant was awarded through the state’s 2010 capital bill.
The new station, located just east of the existing facility on Lake Street, will feature an emergency operation center, a community room for 50 people, modern firearms range, indoor parking for operational vehicles and increased evidence processing, storage capacity and jail capacity.
