Comerouski keys Christian Liberty

Luke Comerouski scored a game-high 24 points on 10-for-16 shooting from the field with a pair of 3-pointers as host Christian Liberty Academy edged Evanston Roycemore 48-46 on Monday in opening-round play of Class 1A regional basketball.

Michael Hennek and Benjamin Thomas had 8 points apiece for the Chargers.

Isiah Butler led Roycemore with 12 points.

Comerouski and Matt Litzenberger advanced in the 3-point shooting contest.

In the other game at Grace Gymnasium, Elgin Academy handled Crystal Lake Faith Lutheran 56-37.
