Scouting report

By Lindsey Willhite

DePaul (6-15, 0-9) at Louisville (17-5, 6-3)

When: 7 p.m. at KFC Yum! Center

TV: Channel 26.2

Radio: WSCR 670-AM

The skinny: The Blue Demons haven’t caught many breaks this year, but they get one against the 15th-ranked Cardinals as leading scorer Preston Knowles (14.9 ppg; 66 3-pointers) will sit out with a hamstring problem. Louisville also won’t have freshman center Gorgui Dieng and Rakeem Buckles, which means its usual 10-man rotation will be down to seven. DePaul played Thursday night, so Oliver Purnell might need to deepen his rotation to ensure fresh bodies. He half-joked after that 25-point home loss to Notre Dame that he was tempted to put his team through a fierce practice Friday, but he knew he couldn’t do that. Louisville certainly noticed Notre Dame’s strong-arm success against skinny freshman forward Cleveland Melvin (4 points) and will guard him accordingly.
