Debt reduction a job for real grown-ups
Trust columnist Burt Constable to lay it on the line and tell us that we, the American people, are getting more than we are paying for. Maybe our legislators are afraid to tell us that at some point we have to raise taxes and cut spending. Not Constable. He forthrightly lays it out. He’s not easy on us. He quotes Sheila Weinberg of the Institute for Truth in Accounting: “The American people need to grow up.”
Being grown up means taking responsibility for our life situation. We are all responsible, though to different degrees, for the plight of our state. We must all be part of the solution.
