Hoffman Estates offers computer animation class for kids
The village of Hoffman Estates Youth Commission is offering two free “Project Alice” computer animation training classes for children of Hoffman Estates residents ages 7 to 14 (beginner level).
Both sessions will take place Saturday, Feb. 26. The first session will be from 9-11 a.m., while the second runs from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Classes are held at the village hall, 1900 Hassell Road.
Registration is required, as space is limited to 10 students per session. To reserve a spot, call (847) 781-2606.
A parent or guardian is required throughout the duration of the class.
Project Alice is an innovative 3-D programming environment created at Carnegie Mellon University that teaches fundamental programming concepts to young children through animation.
This program is used nationwide, from elementary schools through top universities, to introduce vital computer programming skills in a natural and fun way.
