Keeping at it in South Elgin

South Elgin road crews plowed streets and roads up to six times on Wednesday to prevent conditions from worsening with the big freeze, Sgt. Rich Bennett said. He said village thoroughfares were all passable Thursday, but cautioned drivers that some intersections remained slippery and visibility some areas hampered by high snow banks.

“They are still out there today trying to make it safer for people to drive,” Bennett said. “The crews are trying to lower those snow piles so people can see as they pull out.”
