Obama an easy target

The commencement speaker at the 1985 Notre Dame graduation was Jose Duarte, the despot president of El Salvador. Granted, Duarte was a Notre Dame graduate, but he also was a dictator in Central America who deployed death squads to murder his political opponents, including priests and nuns and to “disappear” their children.

There was very little protest about his invitation. The day of the commencement, some were distributing pamphlets detailing his evil acts. But where were the outraged Catholics and Notre Dame alumni and the right wing objectors then? Here was a man who was actually having men, women, and children killed, yet nary a peep was heard.

Their current actions regarding Mr. Obama are hypocritical. No one is forcing the anti-choice people to terminate their pregnancies — which brings up yet another question. Why aren’t they boycotting Chinese products and protesting in front of Chinese embassies with the same vehemence? That country actually does force women to have abortions.

President Obama is an easy mark, and their protests are geared to try to embarrass him. They’re sore losers and extraordinary hypocrites.
