Water main breaks in Arlington Heights
Public works crews in Arlington Heights have fixed one of two underground water main breaks and should have the other one repaired by Sunday morning, authorities said.
The breaks were reported at 6 p.m. at Dryden Avenue and Miner Street, said Cmdr. Michael Miljan. One was fixed at around 10:20 p.m., and crews will soon work to identify the second break. No one was injured and public works crews have put salt in the roads to keep vehicles from losing control.
The streets will remain open throughout, Miljan said, adding that the cold snap likely caused the breaks.
