Democratic agenda shifted to far left

It seems only appropriate that elections occur near Halloween. Politicians tell voters everything that they want to hear in order to get elected, that's the treat. The trick is that they seldom tell the whole truth or do what they promised.

In the past I've always believed that regardless who I voted for or who was elected. It probably didn't matter since they all believed in this great country and the constitution and would govern somewhere near the center, between liberal and conservative views.

This year however I cannot support any Democratic candidate for national office since the Democratic Party's agenda seems to have shifted to the extreme left. A Democratic rally in Washington D.C. on Oct. 4 (One Nation Working Together) was supported by a number of far-left-wing groups including the Communist party of America, the Socialist Party of America and others whose goals are to fundamentally transform this county.

Sadly, I didn't hear one Democratic politician denounce these radical groups. Perhaps I'm wrong but electing a Democrat would mean another rubber stamp supporting the policies of Obama, Pelosi and Reid. Bigger government, uncontrolled spending, higher taxes, loss of individual freedoms (like what type of light bulbs I can use, food I can eat, type of car I will be able to drive, how much electricity I can use), selective takeover of banks and auto companies, stimulus plans that did nothing but line the pockets of special interest groups, enacting life-changing health care and financial legislation not knowing exactly what is in the bill, etc.

Fortunately, the founders of this great nation had the foresight to give people the opportunity every two years to change the course of government. A Democratic vote will be an endorsement of the Obama agenda and a continued march toward socialism.
