Grand Station in Arlington Heights adds wine tastings

The Grand Station restaurant in downtown Arlington Heights, which re-opened under new management several months ago, will be holding wine tasting events at 101 W. Campbell St. beginning with one 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26. The tasting is open to the public at no charge, but reservations are suggested.

Those providing wines for the first tasting will be Southern Wine and Spirits, Wirtz Beverage, and Monsieur Tuton Selection of New York, said Grand Station General Manager Dusko Filimonovic.

“Our guests will enjoy some outstanding wines from three highly regarded distributors, along with complimentary hors d’oeuvres from our chef,” said Filimonovic.

Filimonovic said he has been very pleased with the response to The Grand Station since he re-opened it last fall after taking over from previous owners. “I like to welcome my customers and get to know them by name. A wine tasting provides a more casual, social atmosphere that allows us to get acquainted.”

The restaurant has tweaked its wine list and revamped its lunch menu to add more sandwiches and flatbreads, and change the salad selection.
