Civil rights show at Illinois Holocaust Museum
The Illinois Holocaust Museum in Skokie will present a one-woman show on the civil rights movement in Chicago 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 23.
“The MLK Project: The Fight for Civil Rights” is a cross-cultural, multimedia performance that interweaves personal interviews of Chicago-based civil rights activists, using poetry, hip-hop and history as it follows a young girl’s search for truth and self-discovery.
A presentation of Writers’ Theatre, Glencoe, the show, written by Yolanda Androzzo, is suitable for students in 6th grade and older. A discussion follows the performance.
