Tired of stories of God's intervention

I am so tired of opening the Herald and reading about some horrible accident where a victim was saved by someone who claims that "God put me there at the right time." How absolutely absurd.

Do these people stop to think what they are saying? That God watched the accident unfold, allowed it to happen, allowed people to be maimed or killed, and then doing nothing to prevent the carnage, miraculously had a Good Samaritan appear to help the injured?

I should think that anyone with a modicum of intelligence would think twice before declaring their ordained arrival at what was strictly a meeting by chance. Otherwise, we would be forced to wonder why good Samaritans do not miraculously appear at all automobile accidents.
