Copa America sells nearly two-thirds of 778,000 tickets

RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) - Fans of 110 countries have bought about 500,000 out of 778,000 tickets for Copa America matches.
The organizers said in a statement Thursday night, a fourth and last batch of 260,000 tickets for all 26 matches go on sale on Friday on Copa America's website and at ticket offices in the five host cities.
Copa America begins June 14 and ends July 7. Hosts Brazil will play the opening match against Bolivia in Sao Paulo.
Recent news reports suggest ticket prices have been slow for matches in the cities of Belo Horizonte and Porto Alegre. Copa America's organizing committee did not confirm that information.
