Welcome to new county leaders
The year 2011 has some new beginnings in DuPage County administrations. I want to welcome Dan Cronin to his new position as DuPage County Board Chairman and hope he exhibits the patience that former Chairman Bob Schillerstrom showed during public comment. I expect that Chairman Cronin will continue in his record of exemplary public service and wish him the best in this new endeavor.
The appointment of our new state's attorney Bob Berlin is a breath of fresh air. Thanks, to Chairman Cronin and county board members for appointing a progressive state's attorney. Bob Berlin had worked previously as a first assistant to Kane County State's attorney Meg Gorecki, who I know and have high respect.
In Kane County, Bob Berlin was involved in their nationally acclaimed drug court and their second chance program. Bob Berlin has plans to start a second chance program in DuPage. I hope the county board Judicial Public Safety Committee sees fit to give him what he needs to get it up and running. I'm looking forward to the changes that Bob Berlin will bring to the office.
