Palatine shop marks 1st birthday

Cookie Cards Inc. in downtown Palatine is celebrating its anniversary with a ribbon cutting event from 2-4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, at 10 N. Bothwell St. At 3 p.m. officials will recognize the business, which specializes in custom-designed cookies and cakes.

A party from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, will officially mark one year, and beverages, cupcakes, cookies and more will be available. Owner Kerri Callahan said the business also is now home to Cupcakes & More by Kristine, which has allowed the storefront to extend its operating hours. (847) 496-7929.
