Lake board to fill vacancy

With longtime Lake County Board member Suzi Schmidt preparing to begin her first term as a state senator, the county panel is seeking someone to replace her in the District 3 seat.

Schmidt will officially leave the county post Jan. 28. County board Chairman David Stolman then has 60 days to appoint a successor, with the approval of the full board.

The appointee must be a Republican — like Schmidt — and live in the Lake Villa-area district.

The appointee will serve until November 2012. Interested residents should send a resume and letter of interest to countyboard@lakecountyil.gov.
