The first rat to go for the cheese
Well, that did not take long.
I recently commented to my colleagues at work about how long it would take for the first former state legislator to come out of his hole and land a plump high-paying state job as payback for his yes vote on the massive job killing income tax increase the Democrats — Mike Madigan — foisted on the people of Illinois.
If I read the Daily Herald’s story correctly, it appears former state Rep. Careen Gordon gets the first prize as the first rat to “go for the cheese,” $86,000 per year worth. It will be interesting to see who is next, and at what price. Gordon and Quinn both say there was no deal. Well, governor, you are a proven liar already. Remember the promise to only support an increase of no more than 1 to 1.5 percent? Sure you do. This whole thing, like most of Illinois’ political dealings under our de facto leader Mike Madigan does not come close to passing the smell test.
Remember the old saying, governor, “If it looks like a duck, sounds like a duck, and walks like a duck, it probably is a duck.”
Illinois makes New Jersey and Louisiana look like models for good government. The state is becoming another joke on the Jay Leno show. Who is in line for the next fat taxpayer-supported piece of cheese?
