Storm delays Prospect Hts. garbage pickup

Prospect Heights is canceling Wednesday garbage pickup because of the anticipated storm, and will pick up that trash on Thursday. Thursday’s regular pickup will be held Friday and Friday’s customers will have garbage picked up on Saturday, said City Administrator Anne Marrin.

Prospect Heights has an “e-news” alert system that residents and businesses can sign up for. However, only 300 people have so far signed up, Marrin said, and the city is making a push to get that number closer to the 17,000 people who live in Prospect Heights.

Meanwhile, Mayor Dolly Vole will put out statements using reverse 911.

For fender bender accidents, Prospect Heights police are asking people to call the police department to report them. For real emergencies, call 911.
