The skinny: We're two days shy of an important one-year anniversary: DePaul's last-second home win over Marquette that serves as the program's only regular-season Big East win in the last 42 tries. Not only has DePaul changed coaches and added three important freshmen since Jan. 20, 2010, but final-shot hero Mike Stovall has gone from a starter to an afterthought. The senior wing played just 20 minutes during the recent three-game homestand. Freshman PF Cleveland Melvin (46 points, 21 rebounds vs. Seton Hall and UConn) earned his third Big East Rookie of the Week award within the last month. Marquette, meanwhile, appears en route to another NCAA appearance. The Golden Eagles' 6 losses (Duke, Gonzaga, Wisconsin, Vanderbilt, Pittsburgh and Louisville) have been by a combined 23 points.
