Grayslake Middle faculty donates $300 to pantry
Grayslake Middle School faculty members recently raised $300 that was donated to Avon Township's food pantry.
In a letter of appreciation, Avon Township Supervisor Sam Yingling said an average of eight pounds of food can be purchased with every donated dollar. He said the money is stretched by using the Northern Illinois Food Bank.
That $300 donation from the middle school faculty should purchase about 2,400 pounds of food, Yingling said.
The middle school is part of Grayslake Elementary District 46.
