Lindenhurst plans Earth Day celebration

Lindenhurst will celebrate Earth Day with family-oriented activities from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 22, at village hall and Slove Park, 2301 E. Sand Lake Road.

The day begins with a superhero 5K walk/run and a superkid 1-mile fun run. Other activities include a kite fly, police department and treatment plant tours, bingo, tree planting, nut hunt and more. The village's environmental commission will host a plastic bag swap, shoe collecion and book/clothing/textile recycling. Food and beverages will be provided at no cost. Call (847) 356-8252.
