Buffalo Grove man scammed in property sale

A Buffalo Grove resident was scammed out of $12,000 between June 29 and Dec. 17, police said.

A man contacted the male victim and asked if he would like to sell his time share with Wyndham Properties. The victim agreed; the scammer requested initial funds for a title fee. The subject made additional requests for closing costs and other fees. The money was always sent through Western Union. The victim eventually learned there was no buyer.
