Something’s Brewing lands Grayslake Economic Development Award

Something’s Brewing in Grayslake has been named to receive the village’s 2012 Economic Development Award.

Grayslake Economic Development Commission members selected Something’s Brewing for the honor. The award will be presented to Linda Scholz, owner of Something’s Brewing, at the Grayslake Chamber of Commerce installation reception on Tuesday, Jan. 22, at Emil’s Tavern on Center Street.

Something’s Brewing has two locations in Grayslake: 1126 E. Washington St. and 82 Center St. Scholz also owns Uniquely Sweets at 888 E. Belvidere Road in Grayslake.

“All three businesses are excellent additions to the Grayslake business community. The two Something’s Brewing locations, in particular, enhance the viability of the Center Street and Washington Street business areas,” said Economic Development Commission Chairman Phil Harris.

Criteria for the Economic Development Award include:

타Bringing increased awareness of and positive recognition to Grayslake.

타Outstanding effort and/or investment in the community that strengthens the area’s economy.

타Making a significant contribution to the expansion of the community’s tax base and the generation of additional revenue in the area’s economy.

타Promotes an environment that provides for additional job opportunities.
