Grainger reports sales increase in November

Mettawa-based W.W. Grainger said sales for November increased 8 percent over the same period last year, with strong showing in both domestic and international markets.

The maintenance and repair supply company benefited from sales related to Hurricane Sandy with an increase of two percentage points during the month, the company said in a release. Sales volume and price increases also resulted in increases of 2 and 3 percentage points respectively. Sales in the U.S. and Canada were modest with increases of 6 percent and 8 percent, respectively, while its global business was up 17 percent, the company said.

November had 21 selling days, the same as last year, the company said.
