Sherman unveils "Power of Partnership" campaign for Cancer Care Center

Sherman Health has unveiled a new a marketing campaign, titled "The Power of Partnership," aimed at educating patients and the community about the comprehensive offerings at the Center for Cancer Care at Sherman Health. This stand-alone, state-of-the-art center provides patients with everything from prevention and detection to diagnosis, treatment, and research — all conveniently close to home.

"The campaign highlights the important partnerships we create between our care team and patients, partnerships with organizations such as the American Cancer Society to provide free services to our patients and the University of Chicago Medical Center to provide radiation oncology services, partnerships with the community through educational programs and more," says Christine Priester, director of marketing and public relations at Sherman Health. "All of these partnerships allow us to provide the best possible care."

The campaign began with print advertisements in local papers on Sunday, Jan. 2, and will continue throughout the coming weeks with billboards, online advertisements, a brochure, and a new website.

The website, shermancancercare.com, offers an interactive and helpful experience for visitors and is designed to put patients at ease before they even reach the Center for Cancer Care doors. In addition to providing visitors a wealth of information and resources, the site also introduces people to every member of the care team and contains a blog for patients and visitors to share their experiences and for the Sherman care team to share their expertise.

The new Power of Partnership theme is also being used as a motivational tool for patients. Many of the walls in the Center for Cancer Care feature images of nature and phrases such as "Be Empowered," and "Experience the Power."

"The new look of the Center for Cancer Care is truly an inspiration for our patients and visitors," says Mary Gleason, RN, Director of the Center for Cancer Care. "Patients often read the phrases on the walls before and after treatment for motivation. It is an emotional and beautiful experience."

The Center for Cancer Care at Sherman Health opened in early 2010 and boasts advanced clinical care, including radiation oncology delivered by University of Chicago Medical Center faculty physicians and staff and a 100 percent oncology-certified nursing team. It also features medical oncologists and an on-site pharmacist, as well as the latest technology and advocacy and support programs that can be invaluable to patients as they make their way through treatment.
