Hospital would be good for Huntley
As a Sun City Huntley resident and trustee of the Village of Huntley, I want to join others in voicing my support of the proposed Centegra Hospital in Huntley.
While we in village government work hard to keep our community “The friendly village with country charm,” (our motto), we are experiencing growth in population, more than 24,000; new businesses, new homes and shopping centers that attract shoppers from outside our immediate community.
Huntley is the lead agency for the IDOT Route 47 widening project and the tollway four-way interchange project representing neighboring municipalities and both McHenry and Kane counties. Completion of these projects will mean even more growth in these areas. Centegra Hospital-Huntley would further boost our economy, thereby benefiting our residents by creating construction and permanent staff jobs and more importantly provide needed services close to home.
I appreciate the effort by Centegra to talk to our residents and carefully research our needs in proposing their new hospital. This comes as no surprise, because they have always done so in the past. Their proposal to build the new hospital in Huntley is the best location for the residents of not only McHenry County, but also residents of northern Kane County of which there are more than 4,000 in Sun City alone. I support Centegra Hospital-Huntley, all efforts to bring their proposal to reality and encourage my fellow residents to show their support as well.
